ARCHIVE: 1980s Chanel Baroque Pearl Multi Strand Necklace

£0.00 Sold out
A truly magnificent glass baroque pearl choker necklace by Chanel. This is an earlier Chanel piece that we can precisely date to the Autumn / Winter collection 1989/1990 with Chanel referencing this design for us as per the photograph of documentation. Most likely the Chanel cartouche became detached or was removed. This documentation will be provided to the new owner. The necklace is made up of four strands of individually knotted glass baroque pearls that fasten with a simple hook. The ends of the strands are attached to two gold plated bars, each bar showcasing a single row of smaller, seed pearls.

This necklace is in superb vintage condition overall. The faux pearls still look shiny with no marks. With baroque pearls, often the lacquer becomes scratched or pitted and flakes off but here there is no such wear. The pearl knotting is intact with no stretch. We almost missed this but on very close inspection one of the crystal spacers has lost its stones; however, this is the second to last one from the necklace fastening at the back of the neck and would never be noticed. These could be added back in if desired.

Length of pearls 37 cm. This is an adjustable choker necklace with an additional 8cm chain and will fit all sizes.

We have the matching bracelet available on a different listing.

The second to last photo is of the matching bracelet against the Chanel authentication document we received from Chanel, Paris who authentiated this piece on our behalf from their archives, a copy will be included with the purchase. The last photo is of a similar style Chanel piece from the same era.

Will you set anything aside for me before I come?

We are happy to find anything you may be interested in from our website - please let us know a week in advance.

We also have an extensive offline collection. If you let us know your size, style, favourite colour to wear and perhaps your budget, we can browse through our archive in advance of your appointment.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Clients may wish to bring modern shapewear when trying on garments from certain eras, especially the 1950s. Vintage clothing was often worn with undergarments that shaped the waist and as such is tailored for them.

We have a huge variety of slip dresses and petticoats to complete your look; many of which are also for sale.

You may also wish to bring your favourite footwear. We often find a classic pair of nude shoes work well when trying on, or a pair in gold or silver.

Do you have a price range?

Many of our lower-priced pieces (under £150) are not available to buy online. Our prices range from £80 - £600 for separates. Dresses start at around £150 and go up to £2,500 for the very best antique pieces and designer vintage. Our bridalwear ranges from £300 - £3,000.
