This is a rare and wearable example of a white work linen jacket from the later Edwardian era in almost perfect antique condition. The pattern, which was done entirely by hand, is a large satin work floral design with the cutout work designed to take the place of the leaves and the centres of the flowers. This detail is extended on the front and back, on the arms and on the turned up sleeve cuffs. The jacket fastens with two sets of frogging and hand carved shell or mother of pearl buttons. It is fully tailored with a double kick pleat at the back. This is a generous size for antique clothing and will fit up to a UK size 10-12. The jacket is completely handmade with a combination of machine and hand finishing and therefore no labels are present. Condition wise this is extraordinary. We can see just the tiniest pinhole on the arm. It is very fresh looking and would look perfect for spring/summer layering.
