1970s Beach Party Navy Velour Sailor Two-Piece Bikini Set
This rare two-piece bikini was designed by Beach Party in the early 1970s. Made from navy velour, it combines a bralet-style top with coordinating hot-pant bottoms and a playful nautical theme.
The top is detailed with a contrasting red velour stripe and fastens at the back with two navy plastic buttons. The bottoms are finished with a white braided rope at the waist, threaded through a large red velour anchor appliqué. Both pieces are lined in tonal blue cotton, while the bottoms also contain a separate pair of blue cotton briefs with elasticated leg openings for additional coverage.
The surviving ILGWU union label dates from the 1964–73 period making it an unusually complete survivor and even more so given it is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. There are no surviving size or composition labels and Circa recommends it for approximately a UK 6-8 or US 2-4 as the bust is quite small. Please refer to the sizing information below to ensure the best fit.

What is archival fashion?
Archival fashion refers to historically significant designer garments preserved for their cultural, aesthetic, or technical importance. At Circa, archival fashion includes couture archive pieces, runway garments, early designer work, and museum-quality vintage that document the evolution of fashion history.
How is archival fashion different from vintage?
While vintage typically describes clothing over 20 years old, archival vintage is selected for its rarity, provenance, and relevance to a designer’s archive or fashion history. Circa specialises in archival pieces rather than general vintage.
