1970s Vera Mont White Georgette Maxi Dress
This romantic georgette bridal dress is by high-end occasion designer Vera Mont. We've had several early pieces by this designer over the years and they never fail to disappoint, they're always really well made with quality fabrics and attention to detail in the design. This is a very typical mid to late 1970s bohemian design and is loosely based on Edwardian wedding dresses which came to define this period of romanticism within fashion.
The dress has a high ruffle neckline and the decolletage is trimmed with a double row of ruffles. It has long gathered sleeves with a buttoned cuff and elasticated waistline. Its floor length, full skirt is separated with a ruffled flounce toward the bottom hem. Fastening at the back with the original zipper; thread loops to the sides hold a long sash belt which can be wrapped around several times. It has three fabric covered buttons closing the top of the neckline. The bodice is lined whilst the sleeves and neckline have been left sheer. Such is the quality of the dress, there is a double acetate lining on the skirt portion which gives a real feeling of fullness.
In excellent vintage condition; no issues of any note. This ethereal design would make a fantastic understated wedding dress or could even be worn for the races paired with brightly coloured accessories. Made in what was Western Germany and labelled a vintage size 36. We think this would best fit up to a UK size 8. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in. (163cm) and this dress was a good fit on her.

Will you set anything aside for me before I come?
We are happy to find anything you may be interested in from our website - please let us know a week in advance.
We also have an extensive offline collection. If you let us know your size, style, favourite colour to wear and perhaps your budget, we can browse through our archive in advance of your appointment.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Clients may wish to bring modern shapewear when trying on garments from certain eras, especially the 1950s. Vintage clothing was often worn with undergarments that shaped the waist and as such is tailored for them.
We have a huge variety of slip dresses and petticoats to complete your look; many of which are also for sale.
You may also wish to bring your favourite footwear. We often find a classic pair of nude shoes work well when trying on, or a pair in gold or silver.
Do you have a price range?
Many of our lower-priced pieces (under £150) are not available to buy online. Our prices range from £80 - £600 for separates. Dresses start at around £150 and go up to £2,500 for the very best antique pieces and designer vintage. Our bridalwear ranges from £300 - £3,000.
