This antique 1920s whitework and ribbon dress is a really beautiful and fresh example of night wear from the era or even a bit earlier. It looks so modern and could easily be worn as day wear. The bodice is of particular note - made with machined whitework with a threaded ribbon attached round the empire line of the bust. The sleeves and the V neck of the bust line are matching in terms of the type of whitework ribbon banding used. The dress is very flared and it is almost full length, reaching just above the ankle. It is in really beautiful antique condition with no faults of any note. This dress has been made with care and attention by hand and in a combination of hand stitching and machined elements. The cotton is beautiful and soft and this piece would be perfect for layering with knits or worn on a hot summers day as resort wear.
Due to the style, it will fit a range of sizes as the bust can be pulled in by the ribbon. The dress has no fastenings and slips on over the head.
