1930s Blue Floral Silk Velvet and Chiffon Dress and Jacket Set

Exceptional 1930s ensemble consisting of a cowl neck mid-length dress and a fluted bolero cover up. Both pieces are made from a medium weight chiffon silk in tones of French and azure blue. The intricate, bias cut panels are interspersed with burnout silk velvet floral detailing in shades of glistening grey, yellow, green, blue and red. The sleeveless dress gathers at the waist with a navy twisted rope tassel belt - a suspected but tasteful, later replacement. The dress has a flared tier at the bottom and is an ethereal showstopper - we've not had one in as good as this for many years. The cover up is fashioned as a flowy bolero top with a tasteful flare at the wrist and is without fastenings.

This dreamy set is perfect for the vintage collector or wearer looking to add a beautiful ensemble to their 1930's wardrobe. Condition is extraordinary for something approaching 90 years old - both pieces are without fault and retain a fresh and vibrant appearance. Unlabelled but very well manufactured and will fit a range of sizes up to a UK size 10-12 or US size 6-8.
