This is an entirely original 1920s marabou feather stole in wide sections of rich dark brown interspersed with a brighter mix of red, orange and yellow stripes of barbs. The look reminds me of a fire bird and these highlights have the more desirable longer and individually curled barbs which provide interest and contrast. A long rectangular shape which once resting on the shoulders, reaches below the waist when crossed over to the front of the body. The reverse is lined in a felted cotton; I suspect this had a sumptuous silk backing as befitted something as grand and elegant as this piece was intended. These are rare to market and the feathers are in truly excellent condition with very little losses. Overall super vintage condition and very wearable.
