PRODUCT DETAILS
This charming late 1940s white cotton dress has been hand made with exceptional skill and has some exquisite details. It is comprised of white cotton fabric featuring machined eyelet work of geometric clusters arranged to create an alternating pattern throughout. The fitted bodice has a decorative run of buttons at the centre front and is secured with concealed popper fastenings beneath the button stand. There are dainty puff sleeves and a broad collar with a beautiful lace trim. The skirt is neatly gathered below the waist and falls in soft folds into a three tiered, mid calf length skirt. The fitted waist has been slightly elasticated for comfort and secures with a concealed hook and eye fastening. It should be noted that there is a little rust on this fastening, however this is not visible when worn. It is unlined and may require a slip or petticoat due to the nature of the fabric. This piece is in absolutely lovely vintage condition and is delightfully feminine with a fresh, youthful aesthetic.
