The striking print on this late 1950s California Cottons dress is fantastic and perfect for summer. With its red, pink and green poppies on a white background, the fabric really evokes the bold floral pattern trends of the era. The dress itself has a very flattering V shape neckline and fastens at the front with three large pearlescent buttons. With an unusual style shirt waister design, the bodice has additional triangular shaped ties in the side seams that cross over and tie at the front to nip in the waist. The gathered skirt creates that classic and flattering 1950s silhouette which passed on into the early 1960s before the mod scene and space age fashions dominated from circa 1966. The skirt is lined with a white cotton petticoat which adds a lovely volume; further petticoats can be added if desired.
The dress is in wonderful vintage condition, with no obvious signs of wear and best for a UK 8 or US 4.
