PRODUCT DETAILS
A very early and desirable late 1960s Biba velvet and sequin jacket in great vintage condition. The velvet is a nice thick cotton inky black velvet which is slim cut with artful Art Deco influenced tailoring. It has all over black sequinned embellishment on the lapels. The jacket has an unusual double button hole fastening which would need a double chained toggle to fasten, although the design looks great just left open. We have styled it here closed with bits of ribbon! There are two front pockets to add to the stylish design. This piece really belongs in a serious collection or museum and is just as wearable today as it was nearly 60 years ago. This fabric label was the very first design dating this piece to the late 1960s - 1970 and it has been in our collection for many years as we have not wish to part with it! It is labelled a vintage 12. All original vintage Biba sizing runs small and this is most suitable now for a UK size 8, US size 4. The arms are especially slim fitting. Condition wise, there is very slight colour change down one side - we have lightened this in the photos - not perceptible when worn, otherwise no issues and well preserved.
