This is a really well made original 1960s French couture shift dress by Alice Goyer who operated a small fashion atelier in Bordeaux, France. The construction is superb with interesting design details and is entirely handmade by a highly trained seamstress. The quality is akin to many of the more well known Parisian couture fashion houses of the period. The asymmetric diagonal panel work is really unusual and the dress looks like it has two tiers but this is an overlapping panel towards the bottom hem and clever use of advanced pattern cutting techniques. It fastens to the rear with the original metal zip and is gently A-line in style with a scoop neck and shaping around the bust. This piece is fully lined in a soft acetate. In excellent vintage condition with no faults of any note and will fit around a UK 10, US 6.
