1960s Paco Rabanne Silver Chainmail Shoulder Bag
This is an original Paco Rabanne silver chain mail bag circa 1969 - early 1970s. Rabanne, along with the designers Andre Courreges and Pierre Cardin, defined the 1960s space age era's fashions with their avant-garde, experimental and futuristic designs.
This cross-body micro size bag is made from high-shine and larger interlinked chainmail paillettes with a long silver chain strap, ideal for wearing over the shoulder. Although vintage, it has a distinct contemporary feel, and would be the perfect going out bag for a party or black tie event. The House has recently re-released many of their original designs only adding to the desirability of the earlier and often better made creations.
This bag is unlabelled but the quality is unmistakeable and the original bags often only had hangtags or loosely applied designer label plates which could detach. In very good to excellent vintage condition, with some gentle and age appropriate wear on the metal. There are no missing or damaged disks and all the bonded metal links are present.
