1970s Kayser Pink Silk and Lace Trousseau Slip with Matching Robe
Vintage slip dresses are highly collectable and this is a truly lovely high-end example. They are prized for their wearability and the luxuriousness of the fabrics as well as the simple grace of their silhouettes. This two-piece trousseau, a candy pink confection, was made by American brand Kayser in the 1970s. Tailored to a wide, flowing style, the slip dress has a V-neckline and thin spaghetti straps. It has a ruched empire-line waistband that sits under the bust and gives way to a full skirt. The skirt is decadently trimmed along the bottom with layers of white machined lace, pink grosgrain ribbon and knife pleated panels of pink cloth. The slip dress is unlined. It comes with a coordinating lace-trimmed robe. Tailored from the same pink cloth, it has generous bell-sleeves with large ruffled cuffs trimmed with white lace. The robe has a point collar alongside a wide Peter Pan collar/cape trimmed with white lace that drapes across the shoulders. It can be buttoned with two faux mother-of-pearl buttons at the collar and tied with pink fabric ties at the neck.
It is labelled 100% Polyester and a US size 10, UK 14 but please check our measurements below as this will fit sizes either side very easily. The fabric has no stretch to it.

What is archival fashion?
Archival fashion refers to historically significant designer garments preserved for their cultural, aesthetic, or technical importance. At Circa, archival fashion includes couture archive pieces, runway garments, early designer work, and museum-quality vintage that document the evolution of fashion history.
How is archival fashion different from vintage?
While vintage typically describes clothing over 20 years old, archival vintage is selected for its rarity, provenance, and relevance to a designer’s archive or fashion history. Circa specialises in archival pieces rather than general vintage.
