This desirable late 1980s/ early 1990s black suede bolero style jacket with multi coloured beaded trim is by luxury leather designer Jean Claude Jitrois who's work is synonymous with intricately embellished leatherwear of exceptional quality. This piece is a superb example of his work, and features exquisite Maasai tribal-style beaded trim in vibrant blues, greens and yellows on the cuffs and centre front. Long sleeved and collarless with a curved hemline, the jacket is designed to be worn open, so has no fastenings. It is beautifully finished on the interior and fully lined in branded silk, with an embossed leather label. In impeccable vintage condition, this super rare and collectable piece would best suit a US size 8, UK size 12.

Jean-Claude Jitrois founded his label and first collection in 1983 and worked with refined, exotic and luxury leather to make colourful evening gowns as well as everyday clothing with intricate bead work and hand-sticked embroideries. Working exclusively only with leather and fur, he has a long list of celebrated international fans including Faye Dunaway, Jackie Kennedy, Jerry Hall, Jean Cocteau, Grace Jones, Madonna, Brooke Shields, Brigitte Bardot, Sharon Stone and Princesses Caroline and Stéphanie of Monaco.
