ARCHIVE - 1990s Thierry Mugler Turquoise Jacket with Anchor Motif

£0.00 Sold out

This 1990s Thierry Mugler turquoise blazer jacket draws in the waist and adds volume around the hips, emphasising and highlighting the feminine figure - a silhouette instantly recognisable as Mugler to those in the know. The shawl collar is generously draped and falls to the waist where it meets an elaborate buckle. The waist closes with two hidden metal snap closures and is embellished with a chunky silver-tone metal brooch in the shape of an anchor; a silver-tone anchor rode falls from it complete with weight. The sleeves are split, fastened by a hidden stud closure and each decorated with a silver-tone metal anchor. The jacket has a panelled construction, with the front seams following the curves of the body. Two front slip pockets are hidden within the lines of the seams. Lined with tonal turquoise satin, the pale blue label reads “Thierry Mugler Paris”.

Dating back nearly 40 years, this piece is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws. It is 100% Polyester and has a lining of 100% Acetate. What is archival fashion?

Archival fashion refers to historically significant designer garments preserved for their cultural, aesthetic, or technical importance. At Circa, archival fashion includes couture archive pieces, runway garments, early designer work, and museum-quality vintage that document the evolution of fashion history.

How is archival fashion different from vintage?

While vintage typically describes clothing over 20 years old, archival vintage is selected for its rarity, provenance, and relevance to a designer’s archive or fashion history. Circa specialises in archival pieces rather than general vintage.
