2000s Alexander McQueen Gold Python Leather Biker Jacket
This decadent gold python leather jacket was designed for Alexander McQueen during Lee McQueen’s tenure as Creative Director of his eponymous house. Following Gucci Group’s acquisition of a majority stake in the company, production of the mainline collection was brought in-house in Italy, with Fall 2002 the first collection developed under the new structure. The label used in this jacket was introduced during this period and was in continuous use throughout Lee's tenure from 2003–2010.
Tailored entirely from glistening gold python skin, the jacket takes the classic biker silhouette and renders it in an exceptionally luxurious material. It has broad lapels, an open collar and an abundance of substantial metal hardware, contrasting with the highly textured surface and metallic sheen of the leather.
The collar is held in place with brass-topped snap fastenings, while the front closes with two substantial zips and an additional small flap with a snap closure. Two zipped pockets run diagonally across the chest. The cuffs are similarly detailed with zips and brass-topped snaps, while the back has two zipped vents and a further pair of fastening tabs. Each zip pull is engraved with the Alexander McQueen name.
The jacket is fully lined in soft off-white silk, providing a particularly luxurious contrast. In excellent vintage condition, with the python skin, hardware and silk lining all presenting beautifully. It is composed of 100% python leather with a 100% silk lining and is labelled an Italian size 42, approximately a UK 10 or US 6. The python has no stretch, so please refer to the sizing information below to ensure the best fit.

We are happy to find anything you may be interested in from our website. We have an extensive offline collection. It is helpful if you can let us know your size, style, favourite colour to wear and perhaps your budget in advance of your appointment.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
Clients may wish to bring modern shapewear. You may also wish to bring favourite footwear. We often find a classic pair of nude shoes work well when trying-on, or gold and silver. We have a huge variety of slip dresses and petticoats to complete your look. Many of which are also for sale.
Do you have a price range at the showroom?
Many of our lower priced pieces, under £250, are not available to buy online. Dresses usually start at £150 and go up to £30,000 for the very best archival couture. Our bridalwear price points range from £1,000 to £20,000.
Can I bring anyone with me to my appointment?
Yes but please do let us know the size of your party in advance.
Where can I have my circa garment altered?
We offer some alterations in house. Should you need alterations we cannot provide, we can refer you to one of our tried and trusted tailors.
Does Circa have an after-care service?
We will advise you on the best way to clean and preserve your vintage purchases and can also recommend trusted local dry cleaners.
