2003 Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent Oyster Pink Skirt Suit
This Spring 2003 collection belted trench style jacket and skirt were designed by Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent during his tenure as creative director between 1999 and 2004. It is crafted from a thick, high-quality oyster pink coloured cotton blend, with a crossover front, high collar and waistbelt. The shoulders have traditional trench coat like lapels on each shoulder. It has long sleeves which are also finished with button cuffs. The front panels of the jacket feature a flattering seam detail around the bust and waist, which is further emphasised by the adjustable belt. It fastens at the front with hidden silver-tone hook-and-eye which are engraved with the brand name. The jacket has a soft mauve cotton lining, making it a truly comfortable and versatile piece which can be styled in several ways. Side pockets complete the look. The jacket comes with a coordinating skirt tailored from the same oyster pink cloth. It is cut to same the sexy pencil-skirt silhouettes that flooded the runway with a panelled construction that highlights curves. It has a slit at the rear and is lined with mauve cotton. It fastens at the centre back with a tonal zip.
In excellent vintage condition. They are 97% Cotton, 3% Elastane. It is labelled a French 38, UK 10 or US 6. Our model wearing the full suit is a size UK 8-10 and this fits her perfectly. We previously had the same jacket in a smaller size and that was shot on the model in the studio - please check the measurements carefully. We attach a runway shot from the collection of an almost identical jacket with more elaborate stitchwork which was Look 16.

What is archival fashion?
Archival fashion refers to historically significant designer garments preserved for their cultural, aesthetic, or technical importance. At Circa, archival fashion includes couture archive pieces, runway garments, early designer work, and museum-quality vintage that document the evolution of fashion history.
How is archival fashion different from vintage?
While vintage typically describes clothing over 20 years old, archival vintage is selected for its rarity, provenance, and relevance to a designer’s archive or fashion history. Circa specialises in archival pieces rather than general vintage.
