CIRCA VINTAGE LONDON - THE HOME OF TIMELESS VINTAGE FASHION

GEOFFREY BEENE

Geoffrey Beene was an American fashion designer who became one of New York's darlings. His artistic and technical skills made for beautiful and highly desirable pieces that were simple, comfortable and yet supremely stylish. He studied fashion first in New York before moving to Paris. He worked at the couture house of Molyneux for a time before returning to the USA and going on to design with Teal Traina. He founded his eponymous design house in 1963 and in a real coup, his first collection was featured on the cover of Vogue Magazine. Beene's customers included Nancy Reagan, Faye Dunaway and Glenn Close to name a few. Beene was known as both an innovator and a teacher having taught Kay Unger, Alber Elbaz and Maria Pinto.
